James 5:9-10
James 5:9-10 :-
Don’t grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The judge is standing at the door. Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
As I look through my church bulletin, this little corner spoke to me. It says any twit can criticise, condemn and complain and most fools do.
I paused for a moment and I ponder. I reflect my life. Many a times we all do grumble against our beloved church members or in other words our fellow brother and sisters in Christ. For instance, in our own ministries, we do not work alone most of the time. We do have a few members with us in the same team. It is all about teamwork. Teamwork helps to reduce the burden of the task. Sad to say, most of the time it just do not work in that way. Why? Because each of us have different opinion in different things and none of us want to give in. All of us stand firm in our own opinion. I do that at times. It is not wrong to stand on your own opinion. It is good. I guess we forgot that we are doing it for God. For His glory not for our own glory.
Instead of grumbling about our won brothers and sisters, we should be patience and pray about it. Look, the bible warns us earlier it says; if we grumble against each other we will be judged. Do you want to be judged? Do not say well, I did nothing wrong so who cares? Why should I be afraid? I guess you have forgotten that we are all sinners. We do make mistakes in life and that’s why we need God, we need Jesus in our life. That is why god sent Jesus for us, to die for all our sins and shames. What the bible tells us to do? The bible asks us to set an example of patience in the face of suffering. We need to ne patience. Again I repeat we need to be patience.
Besides than ministries, we human we often judge people and we start to gossip indirectly. I guess it is time for us to realize that who are we to judge? We are no one to judge others. If you want to judge others, first judge yourself first. None of us here are perfect. So why are you complaining or telling our brothers and sisters about how the other brothers and sisters behaviour? If we do that, I can tell you Jesus will have tons of things to complain about all of us here. How many times did we not obey Him? How many times did we do things based on our own opinion and our own decision? In other words we do things based on our own will and not His. But God is still faithful. In the times of troubles half way through our journey He is there for us, carrying us and helping us to solve it. He did not even complain. Who are we to complain?
My dear brothers and sisters, are we complaining and criticising our own brothers and sisters? Ask God to forgive us.
